1 Nephi

1 Nephi 5

Today marks the last day of the setting study skill set.  Next week I will be moving on to something new.  I am excited to share with you whatever that might be:

1 Nephi 5:

Who? Nephi, Laman, Lemuel, Sam, Zoram, Lehi, Sariah

When? Sometime between 600 and 592 BC

Where? Wilderness

Favorite Verse: 14 “And it came to pass that my father, Lehi, also found upon the plates of brass a genealogy of his fathers; wherefore he knew that he was a descendant of Joseph; yea, even that Joseph who was the son of Jacob, who was sold into Egypt, and who was preserved by the hand of the Lord, that he might preserve his father, Jacob, and all his household from perishing with famine.”

AND

Verse 18: “That these plates of brass should go forth unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people who were of his seed.”

All people that read the Book of Mormon, should be able to count themselves as the seed of Joseph if you read these two verses. Which then translates that all readers of the Book of Mormon are counted as children of Israel. Joseph is the son of Jacob who is Israel, and if all readers are of his seed as stated in verse 18, and Lehi as stated in verse 14 is of the seed of Joseph the son of Israel, then all are of the house of Jacob.

Each of us are blessed.  Every single one of us.  I am so thankful to have Jesus Christ in my life and pray that you have Him too.  Jesus Christ will lead us through our days and we can choose to follow Him so that we may be immortal as He is.  Do you need help finding your way?  Go check out some stories on https://www.mormon.org/ .

Lovingly,
Samantha
