With the Allegory of the Olive Tree right behind me, I’m going to blaze through and get on to Jacob 6 and hopefully before the day is out, find time to finish up the Book of Jacob this evening. Send me a prayer to get finished, please!
Jacob picks up where Zenos left off and preaches repentance unto the Nephites. He tells them how merciful God is, and that when Jesus comes for the second and last time, that His people shall go forth and prune the vineyard. Jacob questions the Nephites and tells of all that they know and what they have learned from him, and all of the prophets that have been before him. Jacob reminds the people that the only way to be redeemed is through Jesus Christ and the straight and narrow path.
Jacob finishes this chapter with a powerful quote in verse 12 “O be wise; what can I say more?” I love this quote, Jacob has said all that he can to the Nephites and has shared everything in his power to share and told them all they need to know to come unto Christ and to be saved at the last day, he parts them by reminding them to be wise.
Love, love, love the end of the chapter!
I write this in the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior and Redeemer, Amen.
