How many of you have given serious thought on the title page of a book? I know that there are others out there that read the information on it, but do you really consider it part of the book?
Let’s use this time to take a peek at the title page of the Book of Mormon and see if there is any thing that we can use to add to our knowledge.
On the title page we learn what this book really is. “An abridgement of the record of the people of Nephi, and also of the Lamanites” and “an abridgement taken from the Book of Ether also, which is a record of the people of Jared.” This is a very simple explanation, a much shorter version of what the title page includes. However, we also learn that the purpose of this book is to the “convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ.” The purpose of the Book of Mormon is to ensure that all who read it knows that Jesus is the Christ. Simple.
The Book of Mormon is endearing to me and I hold it precious in my mind. Jesus is the Christ, and He is the Savior of the world.
I write this to you in His holy name, Amen.
