Verse 1 “and now behold, it came to pass” two flag phrases together. Pay attention to what is being said… there was silence in the land for many hours. The people were so awed that everything was silenced. Think of the quiet and still after a storm that you’ve been in. Not even a mouse dare squeak. Who is to break the silence, but Christ himself.
He tells us of the great cities that have fallen and that he has frequently gathered his people. As frequently as he gathered them, they fell away. He continues.
Inverse 8 we see the next flag phrase “And now it came to pass” and we see it again in verse 9. After three days the darkness fell away to light and the storms stood still. The people that were spared turned joyous and gave praise and thanksgiving to Christ.
Verses 14 and 15 have flag phrases in them as well as 17, and 18. This chapter has so much to teach; my favorite is verse 14 where we are instructed to search our scriptures.
Please read 3 Nephi 10 and let me know if you have any questions or comments; this would be a fantastic chapter to have great discussion over.
I leave this with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
